Branch has appointed Matt Peterson as Chief Financial Officer, signaling a more capital-markets-ready phase for the high-growth workforce payments platform as it scales enterprise distribution and broadens its payments infrastructure. Peterson brings experience across accounting, investment banking, and senior finance roles at technology companies, having overseen more than $15 billion in transactions and guided multiple firms to IPO, including Fastly’s 2019 listing.
At Branch, Peterson will modernize core financial systems, upgrade forecasting and planning capabilities, and link product usage data more tightly to financial decision-making to support efficient, long-term expansion. The appointment comes as Branch reports more than 1,200% growth over the past three years and deepens relationships with over 1,300 customers, positioning the company to navigate shifting conditions in fintech, workforce technology, and software markets while preparing for potential future capital raises or a public-market path.
