Branch Launches TipCalc to Automate Tip Pooling and Cashless Payouts for Restaurants

Branch has introduced TipCalc, an automated tip pooling and payout platform aimed at replacing manual, spreadsheet-based tip management in restaurants and other hospitality venues. The system ingests real-time point-of-sale data, applies configurable, rule-based workflows to calculate cashless tips, and pushes nightly distributions to workers, reducing close-out errors, disputes, and administrative overhead for managers.

By integrating directly with leading POS systems, TipCalc lets operators define custom pooling rules tied to revenue centers, job codes, and other operational parameters, improving accuracy and transparency of tip allocations across the workforce. At the end of each day, the platform automatically disburses cashless tips—without requiring pre-funding or cash handling—either to workers’ Branch accounts at no cost or instantly to debit cards for a small fee, while built-in reporting, alerts for large tips, and review controls strengthen oversight and trust among staff and management.
