Bicycle Health has expanded its senior leadership team with three key appointments aimed at scaling its virtual opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment platform amid rising national demand for access to care. The company promoted Dr. Travis Schamber to Chief Medical Officer and hired Jennifer Haas as Chief Marketing Officer and Shay Hurst as Chief People Officer, aligning clinical, growth, and talent strategy at a time when millions of Americans report opioid misuse but only a fraction receive treatment.
As CMO, Dr. Schamber will lead clinical strategy, quality, and care delivery, building on his role in shaping Bicycle Health’s evidence-based, outcomes-focused care model for more than 50,000 patients treated to date. Haas will oversee marketing, communications, and brand positioning, drawing on prior experience scaling a nationwide virtual oncology group to increase awareness and drive patient and partner acquisition across health plans, health systems, and justice settings.
Hurst will manage talent, culture, and organizational development, with a mandate to optimize a distributed virtual-care workforce and support continued growth in a mission-driven environment. CEO Rick Dean said the leadership additions are intended to reduce friction in access to OUD treatment—such as waitlists and limited provider capacity—by combining technology-enabled medication-assisted treatment, therapy, and peer support on a 24/7 digital platform.
Bicycle Health’s strategy centers on integrating into existing reimbursement frameworks and collaborating with health systems, treatment centers, payers, and criminal justice partners to make OUD care more scalable and financially sustainable for stakeholders. The new executives are expected to reinforce the company’s clinical rigor, expand its national reach, and enhance organizational effectiveness, positioning Bicycle Health to capture growing demand for virtual addiction treatment and to deepen partnerships that can drive both improved patient outcomes and longer-term revenue growth.
