Beko (Arçelik A.Ş.) announced that long-serving Chief Executive Officer Hakan Bulgurlu will step down at the next General Assembly after 11 years in the role, with seasoned executive Can Dinçer set to take over leadership of the global appliance group. Bulgurlu, who has spent 32 years within the Koç Group, will remain on the Board of Beko B.V. through June 2026 to support a managed transition and maintain strategic continuity.
The company framed the change as the result of a planned succession process designed to preserve Beko’s international growth trajectory and its sustainability-focused strategy, which has become central to its long-term positioning. Dinçer, currently General Manager of Arçelik Türkiye and Chief Commercial Officer for South Asia and Türkiye, brings more than three decades of operational and commercial experience across Türkiye, Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, where he has helped drive market share gains, stable performance and disciplined execution in competitive markets.
Under Bulgurlu’s leadership, Beko accelerated global expansion and strengthened its competitive standing in Europe and high-growth emerging markets via acquisitions and partnerships, including Singer in Bangladesh, Dawlance in Pakistan, Voltas Beko in India and Arçelik-Hitachi in Asia-Pacific. The creation of Beko Europe and the integration of Whirlpool’s MENA operations further increased scale, manufacturing reach and channel access, positioning the company as a more formidable global player in major domestic appliances.
Concurrently, Bulgurlu embedded sustainability more deeply into Beko’s corporate strategy, aligning climate targets with international standards and driving operational improvements across its manufacturing footprint to balance environmental performance with cost and efficiency gains. He will also complete his term as President of APPLiA, the European home appliance association, maintaining Beko’s visibility in industry-wide policy and standards discussions. For executives and investors, the CEO transition signals continuity rather than a strategic reset: Dinçer is expected to build on the existing growth platforms and sustainability agenda, with near-term focus likely on execution, integration of past acquisitions, and further leveraging Beko’s enlarged European and emerging-market presence.
