Base10-Backed Phonely Targets Call Center Economics With AI Voice Platform

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Base10 Partners, the firm is highlighting portfolio company Phonely, which focuses on applying AI to phone-based customer interactions. The post notes that over $2 billion is transacted daily via phone calls in the U.S., and suggests that most businesses are not fully optimizing this channel.

The company’s LinkedIn post indicates that Phonely has raised a Series A round, positioning its AI voice platform as a replacement for traditional call centers. According to the post, the platform is handling millions of calls per month, booking about 20% more than human agents while operating at roughly 80% of the cost.

The post further claims that 90% of callers reportedly cannot distinguish Phonely’s AI from a human agent and cites an example of more than $10 million in insurance policy sales for a single customer in the first few months of 2026. The founders, described as former PhD AI researchers focused on explainable machine learning, are portrayed as targeting what the post characterizes as an underutilized revenue channel.

For investors, this post may suggest growing venture interest in AI-driven call center and voice infrastructure solutions, with Phonely positioned as a potential beneficiary of enterprise efforts to reduce customer service costs while preserving conversion rates. If Phonely’s reported performance and economics prove sustainable at scale, Base10 Partners could gain exposure to a segment of the AI stack with recurring enterprise demand and a large existing spend base in traditional call centers.
