AVIAN, a Zurich-based industrial AI company specializing in 24/7 thermal monitoring for high-fire-risk facilities, has raised a $2.6 million pre-seed round led by Founderful after two years of profitable bootstrapped operations. The funding will accelerate engineering and deployment capacity as AVIAN scales beyond its core wood-products base into recycling, chemical processing, oil and gas, and maritime, with the company projecting it will exceed $1 million in ARR in 2026.
AVIAN’s platform combines thermal cameras, anomaly detection, smart alarms, predictive maintenance reports, and 24/7 human support to monitor critical components such as motors, bearings, conveyors, presses, and electrical cabinets, learning each site’s normal operating patterns and flagging early heat drift before failures or fires occur. Deployed across roughly 50 sites in nine countries, the system has already prevented an estimated $50 million in damage, delivered measurable insurance savings and downtime reduction for customers, and positioned AVIAN to leverage its growing data set to provide real-time risk telemetry to industrial insurers while extending coverage via AVIAN Vision, which adds smoke and fire detection to existing CCTV infrastructure.
