Automation Anywhere is sharpening its position in enterprise AI after Aisera, a company it owns, was named a Leader in IDC’s inaugural 2026 MarketScape for conversational AI platforms focused on back-office use cases. The recognition validates Automation Anywhere’s strategy to fuse conversational AI with process automation, positioning its Agentic Process Automation system and Aisera’s platform as core tools for functions such as HR, IT service management, finance, procurement, and broader knowledge work.

IDC cited Aisera’s flexibility in large language model deployment, noting its ability to use proprietary, domain-specific LLMs, customer-selected foundation models, or third-party models from providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google (via Vertex AI), Meta’s Llama 3, and Amazon Bedrock. The report also highlighted strong no-code workflow capabilities, plug-and-play connectors, and a partnership-oriented engagement model that helps large enterprises integrate AI across multisystem environments.

Derek Toone, SVP of Agentic AI Solutions at Automation Anywhere, said the IDC result supports the company’s thesis that enterprises now require intelligent agents capable of making autonomous decisions and executing complex workflows, not just answering questions. This aligns with a broader market trend that IDC observes, as conversational AI evolves from simple FAQ chatbots into agents that can handle HR onboarding, IT triage, procurement comparisons, and executive decision support.

For Automation Anywhere, the leadership designation enhances market credibility at a time when buyers are actively evaluating specialized platforms for back-office automation, and it could strengthen its competitive stance in large enterprise and IT-led digital transformation projects. The company plans to showcase back-office AI agents live at its Imagine Dallas 2026 event, using the IDC validation to reinforce its message that agentic AI and automation are converging into a single enterprise platform for measurable operational outcomes.
