Ark Labs has raised $5.2 million in seed funding to accelerate development and adoption of Arkade, its programmable finance infrastructure built on Bitcoin, while simultaneously rolling out support for stablecoins and other digital assets on the platform. The round, led by strategic investors including Tether, Ego Death Capital, Epoch VC, Lion26, Sats Ventures, and Contribution Capital, lifts Ark Labs’ total institutional funding to more than $7.7 million when combined with its prior pre-seed backing.
Positioning itself as a core settlement layer for on-chain finance, Ark Labs is using Arkade to give wallets, fintechs, and financial institutions access to instant, programmable Bitcoin transactions needed for payments, lending, and cross-network settlement. Live since October 2025, Arkade is designed as an open and neutral execution layer that supports functions such as authorizations, holds, conditional terms, and escrow, which are essential for commerce, retail payments, and emerging AI-driven autonomous transactions.
The new capital will primarily fund team expansion in developer relations and product, strengthen partner onboarding, and build developer tools to integrate Bitcoin and stablecoin liquidity at production scale. Tether’s participation is strategic, with CEO Paolo Ardoino highlighting Ark Labs’ role in making it easier to issue, move, and settle USD₮ directly on Bitcoin, which could enhance cross-border payment efficiency, global liquidity, and financial inclusion.
Ark Labs’ leadership positions Arkade as an alternative to increasingly permissioned infrastructure on other networks, emphasizing an open and neutral model that does not depend on a single company’s control. As digital finance infrastructure moves into the mainstream, Ark Labs is aiming to establish Arkade as the programmable settlement backbone for fintechs, brokerages, asset managers, and payment firms building on Bitcoin, potentially capturing a critical role in the next phase of on-chain financial services.
