Arcjet has introduced an AI Prompt Injection Protection capability that inspects prompts at the application boundary and blocks hostile instructions before they reach production AI models, extending its runtime security layer for AI workloads. By shifting enforcement earlier in the request path, Arcjet gives development teams an inline decision point that uses real application context—identity, session data, routing, and business logic—to enforce policy before inference and reduce reliance on model-level defenses.

The new protection plugs directly into Arcjet’s existing application-layer security stack, working alongside Shield, bot detection, rate limiting, and sensitive data controls to safeguard AI endpoints from prompt injection, automated abuse, data leakage, and unnecessary inference spend. Designed for low operational overhead, the feature can be embedded into JavaScript and Python applications, including those built with frameworks such as the Vercel AI SDK and LangChain, reinforcing Arcjet’s positioning as a runtime security layer for AI applications already deployed across hundreds of production environments.
