Aqua Security featured prominently this week with the launch of Aqua Compass, an AI-driven runtime security engine designed to automate defense against live cloud-native attacks. The company framed the move as a response to exploitation timelines that have compressed to minutes, arguing that traditional shift-left and visibility-only approaches are no longer sufficient.

Aqua Compass uses an MCP-based architecture to let customers build AI agents that investigate, contain, and remediate incidents directly within existing workflows while keeping humans in control. These agents can inspect active malware in containerized workloads, isolate compromised assets, and generate hardened runtime policies scoped to affected namespaces.
In parallel, Aqua Security rolled out new runtime risk dashboards that convert vulnerabilities and misconfigurations into monetary exposure metrics that update as controls are enforced. By translating live activity into quantified risk, the platform is targeting security, risk, and finance leaders who need clearer ROI and governance reporting for cybersecurity spend.
Both Compass and the dashboards are built on Aqua’s agent-based enforcement stack, which the company says has been refined over more than a decade of protecting containerized production workloads. Aqua combines granular runtime telemetry with threat intelligence from its Nautilus team and data from millions of protected workloads to correlate attacks, vulnerabilities, and enforcement outcomes.
Strategically, these launches signal a deeper push into runtime security and automated incident response, strengthening Aqua Security’s position in high-intensity cloud-native and production environments. If enterprises adopt Compass and its risk dashboards at scale, the company could enhance differentiation versus cloud-platform and independent security vendors and support stronger customer retention and expansion.
The emphasis on rapid containment and financially transparent risk reduction may also improve Aqua’s competitiveness in large enterprise deals and board-level discussions. Overall, the week marked a significant product and positioning milestone for Aqua Security as it broadens its Secure AI strategy and sharpens its focus on autonomous runtime protection.
