Anthropic is moving beyond large enterprises and formally targeting small and midsize firms with a new offering called Claude for Small Business, positioning the company to tap a large but underpenetrated segment of the AI market. Built into a new toggle inside Claude Cowork, Anthropic’s task-automation platform, the bundle gives paying business users automated bookkeeping support, data-driven business insights, and tools to generate marketing and ad campaign content aimed at everyday operational tasks.
The suite extends Claude Cowork through integrations with widely used business applications, including QuickBooks for accounting, Canva for design, DocuSign for contracts, HubSpot for customer management, and PayPal for payments, anchoring Anthropic more deeply in the software stack of smaller firms. Anthropic frames the move as an attempt to close an adoption gap, noting that small businesses generate 44% of U.S. GDP and employ nearly half of the private-sector workforce, yet have historically lagged large companies in scaling AI beyond simple chat use, and it plans a 10-city U.S. roadshow starting in Chicago with free AI training workshops for 100 local small-business leaders in each city to drive onboarding and usage.
