Anthropic is sharply scaling its infrastructure, signing a new multi‑year agreement with Google and Broadcom that will materially increase processing and compute capacity for its Claude AI models. The expanded arrangement, building on a prior Google Cloud deal for more than a gigawatt of capacity, centers on broader use of Google’s tensor processing units and appears to reach roughly 3.5 gigawatts of compute beginning in 2027, according to a recent Broadcom filing.
Most of this new capacity will be located in the U.S., extending Anthropic’s previously announced $50 billion commitment to domestic compute infrastructure and positioning the company to support surging enterprise demand despite being labeled a supply‑chain risk by the U.S. Defense Department. CFO Krishna Rao framed the partnership as Anthropic’s largest compute commitment to date, intended to keep pace with what the company describes as unprecedented growth, including a reported $30 billion revenue run rate, up from $9 billion at the end of 2025, and more than 1,000 business customers each spending over $1 million annually.
