The company highlighted a new funding wave under California’s Communities in Charge program, administered by the California Energy Commission with management support from CALSTART, GRID Alternatives, and Tetra Tech. The program offers up to $8,500 per Level 2 EV charging port, with an additional $3,500 available for equity-focused projects, and a total of $56.5 million in funding available through January 9, 2026. AmpUp positions its CTEP-certified software and hardware partnerships as a way for multifamily property owners to deploy compliant EV charging solutions that qualify for these incentives.
For investors, this funding pool represents a significant near- to medium-term demand catalyst for EV charging infrastructure in California’s multifamily segment, a market where adoption has been constrained by upfront capital costs and regulatory complexity. As a provider of EV charging software and ecosystem integration rather than solely hardware, AmpUp stands to benefit from increased project volume driven by these subsidies, potentially improving its revenue visibility, recurring software income, and customer acquisition among property managers. If AmpUp can convert this policy tailwind into long-term contracts and a larger installed base, it could strengthen its competitive position within the EV infrastructure and clean-energy services market, particularly in jurisdictions where similar incentive-driven programs may be replicated.
