AmplifyMD has been named “Best Overall Telemedicine Platform” for the second consecutive year in the 10th annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards, reinforcing its position in the AI-enabled virtual specialty care market. The recognition comes from a field of more than 5,000 global nominations and underscores the company’s role in helping hospitals address specialist shortages and streamline clinical workflows at scale.

The company’s platform integrates deeply with hospital EHR systems and uses AI to orchestrate end-to-end consult workflows, from case activation and specialist assignment to documentation, communication, billing, and analytics. By pairing this infrastructure with a nationwide network of board-certified specialists, AmplifyMD enables health systems to expand access to high-demand lines such as TeleStroke, TeleNeurology, TelePsychiatry, and Tele-Infectious Disease while improving operational efficiency and return on investment.

CEO and co-founder Meena Mallipeddi said health systems are under mounting pressure to increase specialty access and optimize limited physician capacity, and positioned AmplifyMD as a way to build a scalable operating model for virtual care rather than relying on fragmented tools. The company’s value proposition centers on faster access to the right specialist, reduced burden on on-site teams, and more efficient remote provider workflows, with the platform aiming to make remote specialists up to twice as productive.

Hospitals leveraging AmplifyMD are targeting core performance metrics such as fewer unnecessary transfers, better patient throughput, shorter length of stay, and improved service line economics, all of which have direct financial implications for health systems. MedTech Breakthrough’s managing director, Steve Johansson, characterized AmplifyMD as having evolved into a clinical operating system for specialty care, arguing that its orchestration layer addresses the scale and coordination requirements created by worsening physician shortages.

For executives, the repeat award signals market validation of AmplifyMD’s technology and operating model at a time when virtual specialty coverage is becoming strategically critical to maintain service levels and margins. The platform’s ability to support either a hospital’s own medical staff, AmplifyMD’s external specialist network, or a hybrid model provides flexibility in workforce planning and network design, potentially influencing capital allocation and partnership decisions in digital health and virtual care expansion.
