According to a recent LinkedIn post from Alchemy, the company is positioning its new AgentPay product as an open beta solution aimed at unifying emerging “agentic commerce” payment protocols. The post describes AgentPay as a protocol-agnostic payment proxy that allows merchants to register an existing API once, with Alchemy handling translation across multiple agent-focused rails.

The LinkedIn post highlights that large players including Google, Stripe, Coinbase, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express have recently launched infrastructure for agent-driven payments. It also cites a Morgan Stanley projection that agentic commerce could reach $385 billion by 2030, suggesting a sizable addressable market if these rails mature into mainstream transaction channels.

According to the post, a key friction point is that each agentic payment protocol currently uses a different standard, potentially creating significant integration overhead for merchants. AgentPay is presented as offering one integration that covers all supported protocols, with zero code changes required to merchants’ existing APIs and automatic support for new protocols as they launch.

For investors, the post suggests Alchemy is seeking to establish an intermediary role in the emerging agent commerce stack, analogous to a universal router between fragmented payment standards.
