3D Cloud has secured a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its chat-based product configuration technology, a core asset for its AI-driven commerce platform. The patent covers 20 claims, including conversational configuration of single and multiple products, automated validation of dimensions, finishes and options, dynamic assembly and in-scene placement of 3D components, iterative modification via successive chat commands, and the ability to complete purchases directly in the interface.
The system merges conversational AI, structured product data and real-time 3D rendering so users can specify complex products in natural language and see accurate visualizations generated on demand, while embedded rules enforce only valid combinations. CEO Beck Besecker said the innovation targets long-standing friction in configuring complex products, aiming to simplify workflows without sacrificing precision or enterprise scalability. The patent strengthens 3D Cloud’s position in 3D e-commerce and configure‑price‑quote infrastructure for furniture, kitchens, baths and related categories, and it supports the company’s B2B SaaS model, where a single 3D product catalog powers multiple applications, from configurators and room planners to AR and VR. As conversational interfaces increasingly shape buying behavior, this IP potentially enhances 3D Cloud’s competitive moat, licensing leverage and strategic value to large retailers and brands using its platform.
