3D Cloud has released its 2026 Furniture Shopping Trends Study, positioning its 3D visualization technology as a key driver of higher-value furniture purchases and improved in-store satisfaction. Commissioned from Provoke Insights and based on an online survey of 400 U.S. consumers who recently spent at least $500 on furniture, the research shows that in-store shoppers using 3D tools with a salesperson are 67% more likely to make purchases above $2,500 than those who do not, while also reporting substantially higher satisfaction with the sales experience.
The findings highlight a missed revenue opportunity for retailers and, by extension, demand drivers for 3D Cloud’s SaaS platform: although 87% of in-store shoppers interact with a salesperson, only 30% say 3D visualization was used, even though nearly all who used 3D report a better experience and hybrid shoppers engaging with 3D buy 57% more items. With most respondents now expecting 3D as a standard part of furniture shopping and viewing retailers without such tools as behind the times, 3D Cloud’s CEO Beck Besecker argues that integrated 3D visualization across digital and physical channels is shifting from a competitive differentiator to table stakes, supporting the company’s growth thesis as a leading 3D digital asset management and configuration provider to major furniture and home improvement retailers.
