1X Ramps Vertically Integrated NEO Humanoid Robot Production in California

According to a recent LinkedIn post from 1X, the company’s Hayward, Calif. facility has begun full-scale production of its NEO humanoid robot, with stated capacity to build 10,000 units in 2025. The post describes the site as a 58,000-square-foot, vertically integrated factory employing more than 200 people and producing key components in-house, including motors, batteries, structures, transmissions, and sensors.

The company’s LinkedIn post further indicates that the latest NEO units are coming off the production line and that consumer shipments are targeted for 2026. For investors, this suggests 1X is transitioning from R&D and pilot phases toward scaled manufacturing, which could materially increase capital needs in the near term but, if demand materializes, may also accelerate revenue visibility and strengthen its position in the emerging home robotics market.

The emphasis on vertical integration implies higher upfront investment in facilities and engineering, but it may enable tighter cost control and faster iteration over time. If 1X can sustain high throughput and manage unit economics, the production ramp described in the post could offer competitive advantages versus peers reliant on more fragmented supply chains, while also increasing execution and market-acceptance risk given the ambitious 2026 consumer timeline.
