Financial technology firm PayPal (PYPL) is partnering with startup company Anthropic to offer free online artificial intelligence (AI) training course for small businesses.

The program, called “AI Fluency for Small Business,” offers nine lessons featuring videos from AI researchers and small business owners. The course provides participants with certificates of completion once the training is finished.
According to PayPal and Anthropic, 82% of small businesses consider AI adoption essential for their future competitiveness, while 73% report lacking the necessary tools or training to successfully deploy the technology and use it to their benefit.

“PayPal is proud to partner with Anthropic to help small and medium-sized businesses harness the full potential of the AI-led economy,” said the fintech concern in a news release. PayPal added that the new initiative supports its goal of providing skills training to 25 million people and small businesses by 2030.
Anthropic said that it is launching “Claude for Small Business,” a plugin that connects its Claude AI chatbot to business tools that include PayPal’s platform, as well as QuickBooks and Canva. The plugin can handle tasks such as accounting, invoicing, and customer refunds.
