Investors in tech giant Microsoft (MSFT) received good news on Wednesday when Q2 2025 sales data for Sony’s (SONY) PlayStation platform was released. This sales data included the 10 best-selling games on PlayStation consoles during the quarter.

Here’s a quick look at the top 10 best-selling games on PlayStation.

  1. Elden Ring: Nightreign
  2. Forza Horizon 5
  3. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Remastered
  4. MLB: The Show 25
  5. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
  6. Doom: The Dark Ages
  7. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
  8. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
  9. Minecraft
  10. Assassin’s Creed: Shadows

What’s interesting to note is the number of titles from Microsoft’s Xbox that made it onto this list. Six of the top 10 games are from Xbox, including Forza Horizon 5, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Remastered, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Doom: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Minecraft. For comparison, only MLB: The Show 25 and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach were published by Sony. This shows that Microsoft is dominating its rival’s platform with its multi-console release strategy.

Microsoft Stock Movement Today

Microsoft stock was up 0.12% on Wednesday, extending a 22.23% year-to-date and 22.52% 12-month rally. Another catalyst on the horizon for MSFT stock is the company’s Q2 2025 earnings report, which comes out after markets close today. Wall Street expects adjusted earnings per share of $3.38 and revenue of $73.81 billion during the quarter.

Turning to Wall Street, the analysts’ consensus rating for Microsoft is Strong Buy, based on 30 Buy and three Hold ratings over the past three months. With that comes an average MSFT stock price target of $558.71, representing a potential 8.92% upside for the shares.
