That’s according to Meta Platforms (META), which has launched a new “incognito mode” for WhatsApp that will enable users to have private conversations with AI chatbots. The new mode is aimed at easing privacy concerns when it comes to sensitive information that users share in AI chats.

People often ask AI chatbots about sensitive topics ranging from healthcare to sexuality and everything in-between. Meta said in a blog post that the new incognito chat mode will provide a way for people to have private conversations with its AI assistant that’s available on the WhatsApp social media platform.

You and Your Chatbot

Going forward, AI chatbot conversations on WhatsApp will be processed in a secure environment that even Meta Platforms can’t access, said the company. Additionally, AI chats will not be saved by default and will disappear when a session ends, said Meta in its blog post.

Generative AI systems have been criticized by privacy advocates because the large language models that underpin them are trained on vast amounts of data, sometimes including personal conversations held with an AI chatbot.

Other technology companies such as Alphabet (GOOGL) give users the option to disable their chat history and opt out of allowing their data to be used in training AI models.

Is META Stock a Buy?

The stock of Meta Platforms has a consensus Strong Buy rating among 38 Wall Street analysts. That rating is based on 31 Buy and seven Hold recommendations issued in the last three months. The average META price target of $817.71 implies 36% upside from current levels.
