The software update also introduces new features to enhance conversations in noisy environments. However, it is the integration with Spotify that Meta is focusing on with the software update. In a news release, Meta describes the addition of Spotify as “the first multimodal AI music experience” for smart glasses.
Going forward, users of the smart glasses can say, “Hey Meta, play a song to match this view” when looking at an album cover or a scene, and the AI will create a personalized Spotify playlist based on what the user is seeing.
Meta’s New Conversation Feature
The update that includes Spotify integration is initially rolling out to users enrolled in Meta’s Early Access Program for Ray-Ban and Oakley glasses in the U.S. and Canada. The software update also includes a new feature that amplifies the voice of the person users are talking to in loud and busy settings such as restaurants, train stations, or music concerts.
The conversation feature uses the glasses’ open-ear speakers to make voices sound slightly louder against background noise. Users can adjust the amplification level by swiping the right temple of their glasses or through device settings. Meta Platforms announced the enhanced conversation feature earlier this year at its annual Connect conference, but this is its official launch.
Is META Stock a Buy?
The stock of Meta Platforms has a consensus Strong Buy rating among 43 Wall Street analysts. That rating is based on 36 Buy, six Hold, and one Sell recommendations issued in the last three months. The average META price target of $830.73 implies 28.30% upside from current levels.
