Clorox (CLX) is doubling down on hygiene. The consumer products company announced that it will acquire GOJO Industries, the privately held maker of Purell hand sanitizer, in a $2.25 billion all-cash deal. The move strengthens Clorox’s position in the fast-growing hygiene and health segment, with one of the most recognizable brands in hand sanitization. The deal also gives Clorox access to an installed base of roughly 20 million sanitizer dispensers across offices, hospitals, schools, and public spaces worldwide.
