Intuitive Surgical’s stock is rising (ISRG) after the medical device company reported fourth quarter 2025 financial results that surpassed Wall Street’s expectations.

The company, which specializes in robotic surgery technology, posted earnings per share (EPS) of $2.53, which was above analysts’ consensus estimate of $2.26. Revenue in the period came in at $2.87 billion, exceeding the $2.75 billion forecast on Wall Street.
Management attributed the strong print largely to 17% growth in the company’s da Vinci robotic surgery platform, which saw procedures rise in the quarter. The company said that it placed 532 da Vinci surgical systems in the quarter, up from 493 a year earlier, and growing its installed base to 11,106 systems, a 12% year-over-year increase.

ISRG’s Global Expansion
Looking ahead, Intuitive Surgical guided for 2026 worldwide da Vinci procedure growth of 13% to 15%, compared to 18% in 2025. The company expects gross profit margins to be between 67% and 68% of revenue, which includes an estimated 1.2% impact from tariffs.
“Our fourth quarter results reflect continued global adoption of our minimally invasive robotic platforms,” said CEO Gary Guthart in the company’s earnings release. “The placement of 303 da Vinci 5 systems this quarter demonstrates strong customer reception to our newest surgical system.”
Intuitive Surgical said that it ended 2025 with $9.03 billion in cash on hand.
