Is XRP at $2 a Buying Opportunity or a Warning Sign?

Story Highlights

Is XRP’s drop to $2 a warning sign or a buying chance? Analysts say the bullish setup may still be intact.

Is XRP at $2 a Buying Opportunity or a Warning Sign?

XRP’s (XRP-USD) sharp pullback has some wondering if the rally is over—but analysts tracking both technical setups and macro drivers say the bullish structure still holds.

XRP Slides as Trade Tensions Rattle Markets

After soaring to $3.40 in February, XRP is now hovering around $2.08—a nearly 40% drop. Much of that decline isn’t just crypto-specific. Markets have been hit hard by renewed trade war fears. Former President Donald Trump’s push for sweeping tariffs has spooked risk assets across the board. XRP, like many altcoins, is feeling the pressure.

That said, the SEC dropping its case against Ripple provided a tailwind that’s helped XRP hold up better than most, still up over 350% from its November 2024 low of $0.50.

Analysts Say More Downside Before the Breakout

CrediBULL Crypto says the recent rejection below $2.20 shows that sellers are still in control. He expects a move back to $1.77—and possibly as low as $1.50—before bulls can regain footing. “It’s still a sideways range. I’m not going long until we see a reaction at support,” he said.

Only a confirmed breakout above $3.21 would signal a real trend reversal, he added.

Bull Flag Pattern Targets $12 XRP Price If Breakout Hits

Stellar Babe has a more optimistic take. She sees XRP forming a classic bull flag—a consolidation phase following a strong rally. If XRP breaks above $3.21, the technical target points to $12, a 450% jump from current levels.

Additionally, InvestingScoope’s weekly chart shows XRP moving within a long-term ascending channel. As long as price stays above the 50-week moving average, the broader trend remains bullish. If history repeats, a breakout to $6.50 could be next.

XRP Holds $2 as Bulls Watch for Breakout or Breakdown

At the time of writing, XRP is holding just above $2. Right now, it really comes down to the macro headwinds and how XRP holds up around support—because that’s what’ll tell us if this is just a breather or the start of something more serious.
