So some forward-thinking souls are already starting to consider breaking down their Christmas decorations, especially given that Thursday is the big day. Throw in some new toys for the kids, and some older ones likely getting rotated out, and one key point emerges: you will be needing a place to store all this. Home improvement giant Home Depot (HD) has a solution, and it is opening up the floor for further solutions with its annual Winter Storage Event. The timely event prompted a boost in Home Depot shares, up fractionally in Monday morning’s trading.

The Home Depot puts on its Winter Storage Event every year, reports note, and it is designed to give customers smarter ways to organize their various storage options. With rental unit costs in decline as of 2025, and short-term rentals on the rise, customers are likely looking for smarter, lower-cost ways to handle storage needs. And Home Depot brought in some new products for the event.
The new products come from Kreate, who has several new products to join its roster, being premiered at the Home Depot event. The first of these is the 27 gallon flip-top tote in a two-pack. This is a storage bin with a flip-top lid, which makes it easier to access the contents. Meanwhile, the new Tote Taxi will make it easier to move the totes around with what amounts to a handle-free wheeled dolly. Finally, Kreate is offering the new Multi-Purpose Plastic Garage Storage Shelving Unit, which gives you an easy place to park all those totes.
Forklift-Related Trouble
Meanwhile, something downright terrifying happened in a Home Depot parking lot that seems to have nothing to do with illegal immigration. Out in Maryland, Lowe’s (LOW) employee stole a forklift and drove it forcibly out of the Lowe’s, going through the rear gates and roll-up door. He then drove that forklift to a nearby Home Depot location, where he crashed into a car in the parking lot.
Inside that car slept a 73-year-old woman, who quickly fled from her car. But the Lowe’s employee—Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown by name—chased the elderly woman with the forklift, collided with her, and ran her over. He then stole the woman’s car, bought gas with her credit card, and traveled around the area before going home, where he was arrested. He was later found guilty, and sentenced to around 60 years in prison.
