Google Stock Jumps as Salesforce CEO Praises Gemini, Saying He’s ‘Not Going Back’ to ChatGPT

Story Highlights

Google just gained one of the loudest endorsements in AI. Salesforce CEO’s public switch to Gemini 3 is boosting Google stock sentiment and sharpening the pressure on OpenAI.

Google Stock Jumps as Salesforce CEO Praises Gemini, Saying He’s ‘Not Going Back’ to ChatGPT

Salesforce (CRM) CEO Marc Benioff stunned the AI world after declaring he has permanently switched from ChatGPT to Google’s (GOOGL) Gemini 3.0 following a two-hour test drive.

Benioff said the experience changed everything for him and made clear he has no intention of going back. His comments came after testing the newest model from Google and reflect one of the strongest public endorsements Gemini has received from a major tech chief.

In a post on X, Benioff wrote: “Holy shit. I’ve used ChatGPT every day for 3 years. Just spent 2 hours on Gemini 3. I’m not going back. The leap is insane — reasoning, speed, images, video… everything is sharper and faster. It feels like the world just changed, again.”

Google Stock Gains Momentum

Benioff’s comments quickly fueled bullish momentum around Google stock, as investors saw the endorsement as a validation of Gemini’s leap in performance across reasoning, speed, image generation, and video processing.

Sundar Pichai has called Gemini 3 the company’s most advanced model yet, describing it as a system that “combines all of Gemini’s capabilities together so you can bring any idea to life.”

The reaction showcases how quickly leadership perception can shift in the AI race, especially when one of the most influential enterprise software CEOs publicly signals a major preference change.

Pressure Mounts on OpenAI

The endorsement adds new competitive strain on OpenAI, whose ChatGPT has dominated consumer AI adoption for years. Benioff’s move signals that even longtime daily users are now reconsidering platform loyalty.

Even OpenAI (PC:OPAIQ) CEO Sam Altman acknowledged the shift in sentiment, posting: “Congrats to Google on Gemini 3! Looks like a great model.”

Altman also referenced “temporary economic headwinds” in an internal memo while reaffirming confidence in OpenAI’s long-term leadership and superintelligence goals.

Tech Leaders Applaud Gemini’s Breakthrough

Support for Gemini 3 stretched well beyond Salesforce. Elon Musk congratulated Pichai publicly on X, along with praise directed at Demis Hassabis.

Meta’s (META) Patrick Collison also weighed in after testing Gemini 3, saying the model built him an “interactive web page summarising 10 breakthroughs in genetics,” adding that it was “pretty cool.”

Even Nvidia (NVDA) acknowledged Google’s momentum in AI, responding to the stock rally with praise for the company’s growth.

To sum up, Marc Benioff’s public switch to Gemini 3 puts new momentum behind Google at a time when competition in AI is intensifying. The endorsement adds pressure on OpenAI and strengthens the case that Google’s latest model is starting to win more enterprise believers.
