Google (GOOGL) Launches New Smart Home Subscription Service That’s Powered by AI

Tech giant Google (GOOGL) just launched a new smart home subscription service called Google Home Premium, which replaces the older Nest Aware plan. Interestingly, this new offering brings in Gemini AI features to help users control their smart homes more easily. The Standard plan costs $10 per month or $100 per year and includes tools like Gemini Live that let you talk to your smart home naturally without using wake words like “Hey Google” first.

At the same time, it comes with Ask Home, which helps automate tasks and answer questions. In addition to voice and automation features, the Standard plan includes 30 days of video history from connected cameras and smart alerts that notify you of important activity. For more advanced tools, Google is offering the Advanced plan at $20 per month or $200 per year. This higher-tier plan includes everything from the Standard plan, plus new features like AI-powered event descriptions, Home Brief summaries, and searchable video history using the Ask Home function.

To make things even more convenient, Google is bundling Google Home Premium with its other AI subscription services. Indeed, Google AI Pro members will automatically get the Standard plan and can upgrade to Advanced for an extra $10 per month. Meanwhile, Google AI Ultra subscribers will receive the full Advanced plan at no extra cost.
