Google (GOOGL) Introduces Its New Pixel 10 Lineup and Tensor G5 Chip

Google (GOOGL) introduced its new Pixel 10 lineup, which is powered by the tech firm’s new chip, the Tensor G5. Manufactured by TSMC (TSM) using the advanced 3nm process, the chip delivers a 34% boost in CPU performance. Its architecture includes a mix of one high-performance core, five mid-tier cores, and two efficiency cores, supported by advanced thermal management to avoid throttling. The chip also features LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage for faster and smoother user experiences. On the camera front, a new Image Signal Processor improves video quality (especially in low light) with features like motion deblur, 10-bit video in 1080p and 4K30, and improved Real Tone rendering.

What really sets the Pixel 10 apart is how it uses the Tensor G5 to power over 20 AI features directly on the device. This includes Magic Cue, which understands context and helps users by pulling relevant data without sending anything to the cloud. In addition, the upgraded TPU runs DeepMind’s Gemini Nano model that is 2.6x faster and twice as efficient as its predecessor, thereby allowing it to handle complex tasks like voice translation from just a few seconds of audio.

Interestingly, the Pixel 10 family includes four phones: the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and the 10 Pro Fold. The base model starts at $799 with three rear cameras, including a 5x telephoto lens, 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. The $999 Pro model upgrades the display, adds 16GB RAM, and doubles the storage. The Pro XL increases the screen size to 6.8 inches and includes a larger battery. Meanwhile, the $1,799 Pixel 10 Pro Fold features a 6.4-inch outer screen and a massive 8-inch inner display.
