Ford Stock (NYSE:F) Slides, 420,000 Vehicles Recalled Over Windshield Wipers

Story Highlights

Ford faces yet another recall.

Ford Stock (NYSE:F) Slides, 420,000 Vehicles Recalled Over Windshield Wipers

This news, sadly, is nothing new for legacy automaker Ford (F). Ford has already seen a panoply of recalls so far this year, and this trend has been going on for over a year now. This time, it is a matter of windshield wipers, but it does not seem to matter what the problem was to investors. Investors sent Ford shares sliding nearly 1.5% in Tuesday afternoon’s trading.

The latest recall hits 422,613 vehicles, reports noted, and covers mainly Lincoln Navigators, Ford Expeditions, and certain trucks in the F-Series line. The failure in the windshield wiper, interestingly enough, is not constrained to the motor. Rather, the problem is with the wiper arms themselves, which can break, and cause the wiper to fail.

A fix is already available, as impacted Ford models will need to return to the dealership to get their wiper arms inspected. If the flaw is in place, then the dealers will simply replace the wiper arms and send drivers on their way.

Wildtrak Hits the 2026 Bronco

Bronco fans, meanwhile, will get some welcome news as Ford brings out a set of updates for the 2026 model. The good news here is that the Wildtrak kit is now available for the 2026 Bronco, and it will come in unexpected fashion.

It used to be that the Wildtrak was a trim. But now, the Wildtrak has been boiled down to an equipment package that the Bronco Badlands will include as an option. Wildtrak is primarily an off-road package, so for those who want to take their Broncos into various adventures, Wildtrak will be an option well worth considering. The Wildtrak package will include the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, the Sasquatch off-road kit complete with FOX internal bypass dampers and HOSS 3.0 suspension, and a 10-speed automatic shifting system.

Is Ford Stock a Good Buy Right Now?

Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on F stock based on three Buys, 11 Holds and one Sell assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 33.6% rally in its share price over the past year, the average F price target of $13.88 per share implies 20.38% upside potential.
