Ford Stock (NYSE:F) Notches Up Despite Yet Another Recall over Child Safety Locks

I appreciate that there are a lot of moving parts in the construction of a car. So hearing about recalls at places like legacy automaker Ford (F) should not be out of line. But it does seem like Ford has had a lot of these lately, in fact, earlier reports noted that it has already broken a record and seems to be adding to that record every week. Another such recall went out, this time over child safety locks. But Ford shareholders held their concern, and shares notched up fractionally in Friday afternoon’s trading.

Elevate Your Investing Strategy:

The latest recall focuses on 27,768 Ford Bronco models with 2025 model years. And, as noted previously, this recall focuses on child safety locks. Apparently, the locks could potentially allow the door to open from the inside, which is not a problem for anyone who knows how to work a door. But for children, who may not understand that opening a car door is a bad idea when the car is moving, this can be a fatal development.

Those impacted, meanwhile, will need to make the trek back to their dealership to have a rear door latch replaced at no charge. Reports suggest that letters for the vehicles in question have already gone out, so for most drivers, this will be a largely academic report. It will also underscore the distressing growth in recall rates for Ford vehicles of late.

One Major Ford Show

Meanwhile, those who have a particular passion for Ford vehicles may want to keep a slot open for summer travel. Well, more like late spring travel. But in early June, there is an annual event to watch for Ford fans: the Carlisle Ford Nationals. Reports emerged detailing just how popular this year’s event was, making it clear that Ford still has a very dedicated fan base.

This year’s event featured over 700 vendors, a combined total of 3,319 show vehicles, and better than 60,000 total attendees eager to check out Ford, past and present. Multiple displays were on hand, including a special commemorative display for the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustange Shelby GT, along with Galaxie Nationals, the MK1 Ford Focus 25th anniversary display, and the 1969 “G” Code Boss 302 Mustang Shelby GT350, a prototype model for the 1970 Boss.
