Ford Stock (NYSE:F) Gains With Explorer Price Cut

Story Highlights

Ford cuts prices on the Explorer line, and also offers a comparatively inexpensive lease option for the Mustang Mach-E.

Ford Stock (NYSE:F) Gains With Explorer Price Cut

Legacy automaker Ford (F) has drawn the ire of customers—and investors, by extension—for a lot of reasons in the last few years. High prices on vehicles was certainly one of the reasons, and one that kept a lot of potential car buyers out of the field. But Ford may be about to shake that particular game up a bit, and pull some potential Ford buyers off the fence. Investors were happy about this, and sent shares up over 1.5% in Monday afternoon’s trading.

This price cut comes to Ford’s Explorer line—arguably Ford’s flagship line, though the F-150 and the Mustang may have something to say about that—specifically, the 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor. The Tremor is a middle-of-the-lineup vehicle, and will be getting some price cutting when it appears on lots.

This comes at a good time, too. The Explorer, reports note, is currently the “…best-selling midsize SUV in the United States,” with just over 104,000 units sold in the first half of 2025 alone. This gives Ford momentum to sell into, and it is taking advantage of that momentum with new pricing on the Tremor. The Tremor will sell for $48,330, a price that actually puts it $1,100 below the 2024 Explorer Timberline, which was recently discontinued.

Want to Lease a Mach-E? It’s a Good Time to Do So!

If your taste runs more toward electric vehicles, and ones that carry a bit of history, there will also be some new pricing on Mustang Mach-E leases. The 2025 Mach-E Premium All-Wheel Drive edition, complete with extended battery, will now be available for $289 a month on a 36-month lease. The lease is offered through Ford Credit’s Red Carpet Lease program, though you will need an additional $4,179 when you sign the lease.

This will likely open up access to the Mach-E for a lot of users who would not have ordinarily gone with such a car. And when people lease cars, try them, drive them for a while, and get used to them, they may well follow up with a purchase. While such numbers have not really been tracked, there are some signs suggesting at least some customers will ultimately buy the same model car they once leased.
