He noted that several other types of funds are already appearing, including a three-times leveraged version that recently became available to traders. Claver shared his view on when the biggest firms will make their move, stating: “I think they’re going to roll it out at the opportune time.”
Rules Help Build Institutional Confidence
Claver believes that recent moves from government agencies like the OCC are making big banks feel safer about digital money. He mentioned that if certain rules regarding stablecoins stay on track, it will change how the biggest players view the industry. Claver said: “I think with the OCC providing guidance around stablecoins and Genius going into effect on May 1st… if they don’t kick the can for that’s going to be a big catalyst for BlackRock and these other institutions to feel comfortable moving into the ring and launching those products.”
