The Dow Jones (DJIA) is set to open Thursday’s trading session slightly lower following the latest batch of data from the Department of Labor (DOL).

For the week ended January 24, initial jobless claims fell by 1,000 to 209,000, above the consensus estimate of 205,000. In addition, the prior week’s claims were revised higher to 210,000 from 200,000.
Continuing jobless claims, which trail initial claims by a week, decreased by 38,000 to 1.827 million, below the estimate of 1.850 million. The prior week’s continuing claims were also revised higher to 1.865 million from 1.849 million.
