The Dow Jones (DJIA) is set to open Tuesday in the green after the U.S. said its ceasefire with Iran was still in place, despite multiple attacks on American forces.

Trade QQQ with leverageSince the ceasefire began on April 8, Iran has carried out attacks on 10 U.S. targets, fired at commercial vessels nine times, and seized two container ships, according to Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. Dan Caine. However, these incidents are “all below the threshold of restarting major combat operations at this point,” he said.
U.S. Officials Affirm Ceasefire with Iran
Caine added that Iran shouldn’t mistake restraint for a lack of resolve. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth echoed his claim that the ceasefire still holds.
On Monday, Iran warned that U.S. interference in the Strait of Hormuz would constitute a violation of the ceasefire, with President Trump responding that any attack on U.S. vessels guiding ships through the waterway would result in Iran being “blown off the face of the Earth.”
