Dino Crisis Is Back Thanks to GOG Resurrecting Capcom’s Survival Horror Series

Story Highlights

Dino Crisis is back thanks to GOG as Capcom continues to ignore one of its most well known survival horror game series.

Dino Crisis is back as PC gaming platform GOG resurrects the survival horror series with modern releases of the first and second games. GOG announced the rereleases of Capcom’s (CCOEY) (CCOEF) first two Dinos Crisis games on X, formerly Twitter, and their inclusion in the GOG Preservation Program.

Invest with Confidence:

The GOG Preservation Program has the company, a division of CD Projekt (OTGLF), spending its own resources to update games for modern PCs. That same treatment makes Dino Crisis 1&2 fully compatible with Windows 10 and 11 while also adding support for new controllers and bringing with it additional updates, such as 4K rendering.

Gamers looking to get their hands on the new Dino Crisis releases will shell out $9.99 for each game. However, there’s a bundle option available on GOG that saves gamers a few bucks with a $16.99 price tag. It’s also worth noting that GOG offers these games without DRM, meaning customers never have to worry about losing access to their purchases.

What’s Taking Capcom So Long to Return to Dino Crisis?

Despite years of fans and developers calling on Capcom to return to Dino Crisis, the series has remained dormant. The latest entry in the survival horror series is Dino Crisis 3, which was released in 2003. While there were rumors of a Dino Crisis 4 being worked on, Capcom shot them down when it said there was no new Dino Crisis game in active development.

Capcom likely isn’t dedicating time to Dino Crisis to focus on the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil has performed well for the company and it has capitalized on that with new entries and remasters over the last few years. Interest in Resident Evil remains high, meaning it might be years before Capcom returns to Dino Crisis as they both are in the survival horror genre. Until then, gamers can enjoy the new Dino Crisis bundle on GOG.

Is CCOEF Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold?

Turning to Wall Street, the analysts’ consensus rating for Capcom is Moderate Buy based on two Buy ratings over the last three months. With that comes an average price target of $26.83, a high of $27.31, and a low of $26.35. This represents a potential 27.16% upside for CCOEF shares.
