Yellow Hat ( (JP:9882) ) has issued an announcement.
Yellow Hat has issued an interim update on a cyberincident at its consolidated subsidiary 2rinkan Yellow Hat, where unauthorized access to a member-only server may have exposed up to 3,455,754 customer records. The potentially compromised data includes personal identifiers, contact details, app credentials, loyalty point balances, and vehicle information, though credit card data is said to be stored separately and unaffected.
The company is beginning a staged notification process to impacted 2rinkan members via phone, app, email, SMS, and postal mail, and has set up a dedicated consultation desk to handle inquiries. Yellow Hat has reported the breach to Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission and local police, and notes that the incident is confined to 2rinkan’s separate membership system with no reported impact on customers of the core “Yellow Hat” brand or other subsidiaries, while warning it will disclose any future financial effects if they emerge.
