Winton Land Limited ( (AU:WTN) ) just unveiled an update.
Winton Land Limited has secured conditional fast-track approval for its Ayrburn Screen Hub project under New Zealand’s Fast-track Approvals Act 2024, with an Expert Panel issuing a final decision that is still subject to a 20-working-day appeal period. The company says the hub, positioned near the Ayrburn Hospitality Precinct and Northbrook Arrowtown between Arrowtown and Lake Hayes, will be an all-inclusive film studio and accommodation complex designed to bolster New Zealand’s film and television infrastructure.
The Ayrburn Screen Hub will allow film productions to work and stay on-site through filming, production and post-production, offering studio buildings, workrooms, office space, dressing rooms, a screening room, meeting facilities and 201 accommodation units for film workers and visitors when no productions are underway. Winton’s Queenstown general manager, Lauren Christie, said the development is expected to generate meaningful employment and economic growth for the region while also delivering further improvements to water quality on the wider Ayrburn site.
