Wheaton Precious Metals ( (TSE:WPM) ) just unveiled an announcement.
On April 1, 2026, Wheaton Precious Metals announced that its subsidiary Wheaton Precious Metals International completed the previously announced silver streaming transaction with a BHP Group unit on Peru’s Antamina mine. From that effective date, Wheaton will buy the equivalent of BHP’s 33.75% share of payable silver until 100 million ounces have been delivered, then 22.5% for the life of mine, with an upfront payment of US$4.3 billion and ongoing payments equal to 20% of the silver spot price.
The closing of this large-scale Antamina silver stream further deepens Wheaton’s exposure to one of the world’s major polymetallic mines and reinforces its strategy of growing through long-term, accretive streaming agreements. The structure of the deal, which uses a fixed 90% payable factor and life-of-mine coverage after the initial volume threshold, is expected to enhance Wheaton’s production profile and cash flow visibility, with implications for investors seeking sustained leverage to silver prices.
The most recent analyst rating on (TSE:WPM) stock is a Buy with a C$11200.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Wheaton Precious Metals stock, see the TSE:WPM Stock Forecast page.
