Weir Group plc (The) ( (GB:WEIR) ) has issued an update.
The Weir Group has announced a planned leadership transition in which Minerals Division President Andrew Neilson will succeed Jon Stanton as Chief Executive Officer on 1 August 2026, following Neilson’s election to the Board and period as CEO Designate. Neilson, who has led major growth and integration initiatives across Weir’s mining-focused divisions, is viewed by the Board as well placed to drive the next phase of growth, profitability and shareholder value.
Stanton, CEO since 2016 and previously CFO, will remain with the company until April 2027 in an advisory executive capacity, supporting an orderly handover and work on emerging strategic opportunities in Weir’s markets. The score is led by improving profitability and a constructive earnings outlook with margin expansion guidance, but is held back by elevated leverage/cash-flow consistency concerns and weak near-term technicals. Valuation also looks demanding for the current risk profile.
