Volaris Optimistic Despite Capacity Drop

Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (VLRS) has released an update.

Volaris, the ultra-low-cost airline serving Mexico and the Americas, has reported a decrease in capacity by 13.7% year-over-year in June 2024, due to accelerated engine inspections leading to aircraft groundings. Despite this, the company saw an increase in load factor to 85.6% and transported 2.4 million passengers. The company’s CEO is optimistic about future booking trends and the strategic reallocation of capacity, which suggests a robust upcoming summer season.
