Viridis Mining and Minerals’ Colossus Rare Earth Project in Brazil has been selected for inclusion in the Brazil Climate and Ecological Transformation Investment Platform, a government-backed initiative to channel international capital into priority climate transition and energy transformation projects. The move embeds Colossus in Brazil’s national pipeline for ecological and industrial transformation, under the strategic minerals theme, and signals its importance to the country’s long-term clean energy and critical minerals strategy.

Inclusion in the platform is expected to broaden Viridis’s access to global development banks, climate funds and institutional investors, complementing existing support from Western export credit agencies and Brazil’s development bank as the project advances toward a final investment decision targeted for the second half of 2026. With initial platform pilot projects representing roughly US$25.4 billion of potential investment and Viridis already having secured US$30 million in strategic equity and multiple financing avenues, the company aims to optimise its funding mix and lower its cost of capital as it moves into the project execution phase.
