Victrex ( (GB:VCT) ) has shared an announcement.
Victrex reported a 1% rise in interim revenue to £147.1m on 6% higher volumes, but underlying pre-tax profit fell 18% to £19m as a weaker sales mix, competitive pricing and currency pressures squeezed margins, while medical revenues declined 9% on order phasing and pricing effects. The company swung to a reported pre-tax loss of £44m after a £60.6m non-cash impairment of its China manufacturing facility, kept its interim dividend flat and saw net debt edge up, even as management highlighted a stronger second quarter and resilient demand in sustainable solutions and industrial end markets.
Chief executive James Routh said a profit improvement plan is progressing, with a roughly 10% headcount reduction in central functions, portfolio simplification and a new operating model expected to deliver at least £10m of annual savings by FY 2027 and some benefits from late 2026. Victrex plans a September capital markets day to outline a refreshed strategy and leadership team, with the board guiding to full-year underlying pre-tax profit of £42m–£44m as it seeks to restore profitability and sharpen execution in an increasingly competitive PEEK market.
The most recent analyst rating on (GB:VCT) stock is a Hold with a £625.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Victrex stock, see the GB:VCT Stock Forecast page.
