Vertu Motors ( (GB:VTU) ) has issued an announcement.
Vertu Motors has expanded the holding of its employee benefit trust after trustee Ocorian Limited acquired 216,222 ordinary shares at 61.67 pence each on 10 April 2026. The purchase lifts the trust’s stake from 1.50% to 1.57% of Vertu’s 312.3 million issued shares, and the stock will be used to satisfy awards under the group’s long-term incentive plan and other employee share options, aligning executives and senior managers more closely with shareholder interests.
The new shares, which carry full voting rights, increase the pool available for distribution to participants including executive directors and other persons discharging managerial responsibilities. The move underscores Vertu’s continued use of equity-based remuneration to support retention and incentivisation of key personnel in a competitive automotive retail market.
Spark’s Take on VTU Stock

Vertu Motors’ overall stock score is driven by a stable financial foundation with solid revenue growth, supported by positive technical trends and a reasonable valuation. The strategic share buyback program further enhances shareholder value. However, profitability pressures and operational challenges, such as the cyber-attack, present risks that temper the score.
