On September 30, 2025, UBS Group AG, a major player in the global financial services industry, addressed the Swiss Capital Adequacy Ordinance (CAO) proposals through a presentation by CEO Sergio Ermotti and CFO Todd Tuckner. The company expressed concerns that the proposed capital requirements would unduly penalize UBS, despite its role in stabilizing the financial system during the Credit Suisse crisis in March 2023. UBS argues that the proposals do not align with international standards and could undermine its competitive position by requiring excessive capital holdings, which could increase costs and reduce operational flexibility.
