Transport International Holdings Limited reported a modest decline in profit for the first half of 2024, with earnings dipping to HK$120.3 million from HK$133.7 million the previous year, largely due to non-recurring gains in property value changes. The Group’s primary business, The Kowloon Motor Bus Company, saw a notable turnaround, posting a profit of HK$21.9 million compared to a loss in the same period last year, despite facing challenges such as rising staff costs and volatile fuel prices. Reflecting on these mixed results and the uncertain economic outlook, the Board has chosen not to issue an interim dividend.
