TotalEnergies has signed a contract with Dell Technologies and NVIDIA to design and install Pangea 5, a high‑performance supercomputer that will increase its computing power sixfold from 2027, in a project worth over €100 million at its CSTJF center in Pau, France. The system is intended to expand advanced seismic imaging for low‑cost, low‑emission hydrocarbon exploration and accelerate AI‑driven research, while cutting energy use by about 40%, sharply reducing cooling needs, and recycling residual heat to warm buildings, underscoring the company’s push to pair digital leadership with energy‑transition and efficiency goals.
