TotalEnergies SE has announced the launch of a pioneering floating wind turbine pilot project aimed at decarbonizing the Culzean offshore platform in the UK North Sea. Expected to be operational by the end of 2025, this turbine will cover approximately 20% of the platform’s power needs, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project, selected by Crown Estate Scotland’s INTOG leasing round, aligns with TotalEnergies’ strategy to integrate renewable energy solutions in offshore oil and gas operations.
