TotalEnergies has expanded its partnership with AES by acquiring a 50% stake in AES Dominicana Renewables Energy’s solar, wind, and battery storage portfolio in the Dominican Republic, following a prior acquisition of a 30% stake in Puerto Rican assets. This expansion enhances TotalEnergies’ renewable energy capacity in the Caribbean to over 1.5 GW, aligning with its multi-energy strategy and contributing to its goal of achieving 35 GW of renewable capacity by 2025. The acquisition supports TotalEnergies’ position as a key player in the LNG value chain in the region, while also advancing its renewable energy footprint, thereby impacting its operations and industry positioning positively.
