TotalEnergies SE ( (FR:TTE) ) has provided an announcement.
TotalEnergies has clarified the financing arrangements for the Mozambique LNG project, initially secured at $15.4 billion with various lenders. Due to a prolonged force majeure, the project financing was amended, and the consortium decided to proceed without UK Export Finance and Atradius, replacing their contributions with additional equity from partners. This decision underscores the consortium’s commitment to the project’s continuation and its positive impact on Mozambique’s development. Despite Atradius’s withdrawal, TotalEnergies acknowledges reports on human rights and security in Cabo Delgado but criticizes the lack of on-the-ground investigation.
